To consider comments of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee from its meeting held on 16^th January 2024 on the budget proposals for 2024/25.

Cabinet considered the comments of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee from it’s meeting on 16^th January 2023.

The draft budget was previously considered at Cabinet on 9^th January 2024, following its review through the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Budget Task and Finish Panel.  

The budget was fully scrutinised by the Budget Task and Finish Panel who received an overview of the savings proposals, the growth proposals, and the fees and charges.   The Panel acknowledged the challenges faced by the Council in the medium term and discussed the 2024/25 proposals in detail. No changes were proposed by the panel, which was supported by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee. 

It was noted that parish precepts and business rate estimates would be finalised for Full Council on 5^th February 2024.

Cabinet recommend the budget proposals 2024/25 and Council Tax Setting to Full Council for approval.
