MINUTES

To confirm as a correct record the Minutes of the meeting held on 22 November 2018 (previously circulated).

The minutes of the meeting held on 22 November 2018 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

21.

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

The Committee is asked to resolve:

 

That under Section 100(A)(2) and (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be now excluded from the meeting for item 6, 7 and 8 on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of confidential or exempt information as defined in Section 100A(3) and Paragraph 1 (personal information), 2 (individual identity) and 7 (prevention, investigation or prosecution of crime) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the said Act (as amended).

 

In resolving to exclude the public in respect of the exempt information, it is considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

RESOLVED:

 

That under Section 100(A)(2) and (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be now excluded from the meeting for Agenda items 6, 7 and 8 (Minutes 21, 23, and 24 refer) on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of confidential or exempt information as defined in Section 100 (A)(3) and Paragraphs 1 (personal information), 2 (individual identity) and 3 (private financial or business information) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the said Act (as amended).

 

In resolving to exclude the public in respect of the exempt information, it was considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information.

 

22.

APPLICATION FOR PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER'S LICENCE

Exempt report of the Hackney Carriage Officer on the application for a review of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

Minutes:

The Hackney Carriage Officer presented the exempt report of the Corporate Director (Public Protection, Planning and Governance) on the determination of an application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

 

The driver was in attendance for the hearing and was accompanied by a family member.

 

Following consideration of the evidence presented, both written and oral, the Committee

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the driver be granted a private hire driver’s licence.

 

(Note:  A more detailed record of the Committee’s decision is contained in exempt Minute 22).

 

23.

REVIEW OF HACKNEY CARRIAGE DRIVER'S LICENCE

Exempt report of the Hackney Carriage Officer on the application for a review of a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence.

Minutes:

The case was adjourned until further notice as the driver did not attend the hearing.  The Committee was of the view that the driver ought to have the opportunity to put his case forward directly to the Committee.

Minutes:

The Hackney Carriage Officer presented the exempt report of the Corporate Director (Public Protection, Planning and Governance) on the determination of a review of a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence.

 

The driver was in attendance for the hearing.

 

Following consideration of the evidence presented, both written and oral, the Committee

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Committee take no action.
