To confirm as a correct record the minutes of the Campus West Community Panel meeting held on 24 January 2024 (previously circulated)

The minutes of the Campus West Community Cabinet Panel meeting held on the 24^th January 2024 were approved as a correct record.

There were no notifications of urgent business.

No declarations of interest were received.

Up to thirty minutes will be made available for questions from members of the public on issues relating to the work of the Committee and to receive any petitions.

Report to follow

The Assistant Director (Leisure, Community & Cultural Services) explained the purpose of the new Cabinet Panel which would focus on the performance of the Council’s cultural assets.

The Panel received the performance update report and presentation.

During the discussion, the following key points were raised:

·         Members congratulated the team on the performance of Campus West.

·         It was clarified that the maximum capacity for Live on Stage was 326, however, seating was often required by the crew for shows.

·         During school holidays children’s theatre was shown at Campus West which had good attendance.

·         The net controllable costs in the report show the subsidy for Camp West.

·         Members commented that the Pumping Station at Mill Green would be a valuable asset to the Council. It was confirmed that the public and organisations could also hire the space.

·         It was highlighted that for future meetings the Hive and the other community centres would be shown separately.
